Fall Waneta Road Clean Up

We did our third road clean up of the year on Saturday. It was nice and cool, just perfect, but the long grass was a bit wet. It didn’t take long, just two and half hours and we were in Tim Horton’s for a nice cup of hot coffee by ten thirty. There were just five of us there, but we made short work of it.

The five of us with the last bag … Viktor is hiding behind the camera

I find the exercise quite meditative at times. A deep concentration on itinerant pits of plastic and paper, watching where your next step is going to be and being aware of the traffic. Of course my inner voice pops in and wonders who could have not noticed that bit of garbage flying off the back of the truck, or why would someone throw out a whole bunch old Tim Horton’s coffee cups. Sorry Tim you were the winner of the noticeable brand on my stretch of the road. And as usual I could not help wondering how best to involve the local businesses along High 3B in our little enterprise.

Next clean up is scheduled for some time in April, the date to be set nearer the time. So keep an eye on the calendar for April to see our adventures. And should a passing soul like to help out with our efforts please contact us and we’ll put you on our list of volunteers. You can contact us by email on our contact page.
