Meeting was held at The Bridgeview Café with President Graham presiding 6 members present and guest Rob Hawton.
Toast to Queen and Canada
- Business:
- Geoff Harrison of the Trail Youth Group is looking for someone to teach basic cooking. Carol invited him to come speak to us about what is involved.
- District Conference is May 15th to 17th in Kennewick with the theme of Human Trafficking.
- We need to send $500 to Susie’s sewing project. Carol and Juris will liaise and organise the money order.
- Trail United Way is taking over the Beaver Valley Christmas Hamper program. they are looking for volunteers to help put them together. Maddy suggested we volunteer to help assemble them. She will phone and find our details.
- Discussion on B street park. The idea of a pollinator and bee friendly garden came up. Questions arose about whether we continue on the upkeep every year. The City of Trail is keen for us to do something. Carol will contact Dan Rodlie of Communities in bloom to get their perspective on it. We would put up signage. We could apply for an express grant to do this project in the spring.
- Possibly the last National Immunisation day will happen in India in February. there are opportunities for Rotarians to help.
- Date for the Christmas brunch and book exchange is Saturday 14th December at 10.30. Location to be confirmed.
- There is a book club fundraiser in the the Hospital lobby on Nov 26/27. Used books can be dropped off with Carol for them.
