Thought of the day

Minutes 20 March 2020

Reputation is what others think about you. What’s far more important is character, because that is what you think about yourself
Billie Jean King

Service is the rent that you pay for room on this Earth.

The meeting was held online via Zoom with President Graham presiding, 4 members online.

Toast to Queen and Canada

  • Business:
  • We had a discussion on the Covid virus. The next few weeks are critical to slow the spread of the virus. We are all staying home as much as we can.
  • We already postponed the social scheduled for March 21st.
  • Our meetings for the rest of the month will be on zoom.
  • The Trail Youth Centre is closed so no more cooking for a while.
  • An update on Viktor and Elizabeth’s 128 day cruise. This has been cut short as many ports are not taking cruise ships, even though no one is sick on theirs. They will disembark in Fremantle Australia with only half the cruise completed.
  • GTRAC April 13th to 22nd is postponed until the fall. We have no businesses to canvas.
  • The district has cancelled the district conference and the District Assembly and now RYLA.
  • Road Clean-up set for March 28th, 8am at Tim Horton’s. At this stage it will go ahead but we can reconsider next week. We may not have many people.
  • Juris received an update from Threads of Hope; Suzie’s sewing project. He will send it out to everyone.
  • We will put in an order for medical hats from Suzie’s.
  • Next week is a zoom meeting again at 7.15. Juris will send an invite and a reminder the day before.

  • Happy and sad bucks collected. Meeting adjourned at 8am
