The meeting was held at 7.15am on Zoom with President Juris presiding, 5 members present.

  • Business:
  • Maddy gave a recap on some action items from last week, a few are still outstanding.
  • Juris and Carol got together to hand over the treasurers portfolio. Dues are due, however Carol will be away for the next two weeks. $120 each for six months when she returns. In August we will have a budget meeting once she has had a chance to look at the books.
  • Fundraising ideas; Oktoberfest, Maskerade, when the virus is sorted out.
  • July has 5 fridays. July 26th will be an in person social. It will be a barbecue at Beaver Creek park. Bring your own meat and a dish to share. We will start at 4pm and have the barbecue ready around 5.30. Juris will bring wood.
  • Juris asked for a volunteer to look for suitable music to start our meeting. Viktor will find something.
  • Toastmasters, Maddy talked to Paul Bowles about Toastmasters. He is no longer a member, Maddy will look for another contact.
  • Maddy will get out a copy of out bylaws for us to look at.
  • We need to redo our agenda and work from it

  • Carol gave a presentation on Skills for Success. This started out several years ago as Essential Skills programs. Selkirk College uses this as a framework. It encourages digital literacy and problem solving.
  • Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
