Thought of the day

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.

Civilization is the limitless multiplication of unnecessary necessities.
Mark Twain

Music – Let there be peace on earth.

  • Business:
  • Action items from last week; Maddy couldn’t find a copy of bylaws. Viktor will look for a copy.
  • We received our invoice from RI. Carol will pay it when she returns. Dues can be dropped off with her at the college once she returns.
  • No meeting next Friday 24th due to social on Sunday 26th.
  • July 26th will be an in person social. It will be a barbecue at Beaver Creek park. Bring your own meat and a dish to share. We will start at 4pm and have the barbecue ready around 5.30. Graham will check with them to see what is there and what we need.
  • Program
  • Juris introduced Jerri to talk to us about how their club works. eclubs are now Passport clubs. Think outside the box. District passport club only requires you to be a friend of the district. It is a peacebuilder club. It supports members in their projects. Not a fundraising club – dues kept to a minimum. RI requires only one meeting a month. We don’t need to do anything with RI to change. We need to define what membership means to our club. Ask question “What can Rotary do to help new or prospective members?” Check out Rotary Action Groups (RAGs). How can we appeal to other people? What is different about our club? Juris thanked Jerri for her comments after a discussion.
  • Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
