Business:
Joint fundraising committee meeting held Monday 24th on zoom. Graham attended. Online auction will be put off until Spring 2021. $100 challenge discussed where 100 people donate $100 each and then get a say in how the $10,000 raised is spent. Online bingo – golden club runs this. fiona of Rossland club did it. It is worth exploring.
Lynn asked us to be a diversity lead for the district. Juris will contact her to see what is involved.
Becoming an eclub; By laws will need to be changed. Name change discussed
Motion by Carol, seconded by Weibing: To change our name to Rotary club of Waneta Sunshine. All in favour.
Bank will need a letter to change the name on the account. Maddy will organize. Website will need to be changed. Juris will do that. Viktor will fill in the forms with RI.
Facebook page will need name change
Juris will write his vision about why we want to be an eclub for the website.
There is $450 in the duathlon account. Carol will close it together with John who is the other signatory. Money will be deposited in our account.
Maddy received an inheritance from her mother’s estate and is donating $1000 to our club to be used to help individuals with extraordinary needs.
Speaker on September 11th. Teresa Cheng, an occupational therapist working for TACL asking for a donation for a specialised wheelchair.
