District Governor Tim Hendrickson and his wife Cindy.

Two meetings were held, one on zoom on Thursday 17th to meet our DG. we met in person on Thursday 18th at Bridgeview Café. 5 members present at both meetings.

  • The name change was approved. We are now officially The Rotary eclub of Waneta Sunshine.
  • Program
  • Maddy as Assistant Governor introduced Tim Frederickson. He presented a speech about his journey in Rotary. He encouraged us to Have a heart for Rotary and if we already did to grow it.
  • The presentation was recorded and will be edited for us to view again at a later date.
  • Tim asked each of us why we got into Rotary and why we stay.
  • Tim announced that the district has set up a focus point for any help needed due to covid and fires in Washington State. Mayumi van der Pol will be coordinating.
  • Business at Bridgeview
  • Golden rotary Covid bingo. It is possible we could share the work with them. They are becoming burnt out and tired. We could then have proceeds from one evening if we hosted it and did the work. this will be discussed at the next joint fundraising committee. Maddy participated last friday and found it interesting and entertaining. Quite a few volunteers needed for the evening.
  • September 25th we will have a budget meeting at our regular time on zoom.
  • Abby’s chair. Carol paid the balance of $750 and had $300 promised toward it from members.
  • We owe Susie’s sewing project the next installment. Carol and Juris will organise it.
  • Carol will organise the name change for the cheques and bank account.
  • Juris will organise the name change for the website.
  • bylaws tabled until October.
  • Project suggested, tree planting. carol will follow up with Alphonse Mallatte.
  • Happy and sad bucks actually collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
