• Tree project -no news yet – Viktor will touch base with Karen.
• Peace conference Saturday February 4th free on zoom
• Juris reported that he has completed the first part of PETS on zoom. still 4 sessions in February.
• Time for a dinner social Sunday February 7th at 5.30pm. The idea is to chat over dinner. Maddy will send out the link.
• .Feb 12th Thomas Profant – past youth exchange student 20 years ago. Now living in Bratislava. Invite Trail and Rossland members who may know him.
• Feb 26th Luke Vorstermans on the Roll-a-hippo project.
• Comments; No Rotary is not a pulpit for political parties.
• Nothing about religion should be discussed. There is a fine line. what is political. Is it political to talk about racism and its effects? We can discuss it if it fits the 4 way test. We can have speakers to educate ourselves. There is no black and white answer. We should judge each situation on its merits. We need to address inequalities and the needs of disadvantaged peoples. Help strengthen Rotary and do good in the world.
