Thought of the day

Minutes 3 December 2021

It’s only when you look at an ant through a magnifying glass on a sunny day that you realize how often they burst into flames.

  • Rotary moment -Joan
  • From the October 2021 Rotary Canada magazine joan found an article on DEI from District 7820 (parts of Eastern Canada) – they have been working for 16 months to get a strategic framework together. There are four steps; acknowledgement, awareness, assessment and action. To have a discussion around racial issues you need to do your homework ahead of time and listen then reflect and discuss what actions you can take. The four way test is an integral part of their work.
  • A discussion on DEI followed.
  • The Rotary convention in 2022 will be in Houston. It will be the first in person convention in two years.
  • Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
