• Business
• Financial – admin balance $2058.68, projects 3882.68. gaming $14,245.51. We will organize the next $500 for suzies sewing project.
• Motion that we donate $2000 of gaming money to TACL. graham seconded by Maddy. passed.
• Webster school ski day cancelled. Maddy contacted Jim Feaney of district grants to see if we can use the money for the school’s alternate plan, Winter Wonderland, and has not heard back yet.
• Camp koolaree is asking for money toward a new boat to be delivered in 2023. It will cost $140,000. They are eligible for gaming money. We would like them to come talk to us before we donate. Juris will invite Bill Furey.
• Bingo – Betty White is being honoured January 21st. A donation to the BCSPCA of $20,000 will be made from all clubs after a revote. Players and clubs are encouraged to donate to local animal shelters.
• Speakers are available on Peace and DEI from the district. New website Rotary district 5080 is worth taking a look at.
• We need a vison session for the club. Juris will talk to Carol about a time so she can be included. We discussed having an in person meeting at Pat’s to start the process on Feb 4th.
• Adirondack chair project. Joan put together project plan. She divided the tasks into 3 areas: making the chairs, selling them, closing the project. We concentrated on timelines for Section 2 – Pat has an assortment of wood to make the chairs that would not be ready and seasoned until summer at least. Put a logo of our club into each chair. Wont be able to sell them until late in year or even 2023. We made some progress filling in the project plan. Joan will send around an updated plan.
