- Business
- Bingo. three of us had a good time at bingo on 29th April. Our next session will be 6 weeks later on June 10th.
- Our members have been invited to Cranbrook Rotary Centennial Celebration dinner and dance on Saturday, June 4th. Maddy sent out an email with details.
- Christina Lake charter celebration is on Wednesday June 15th at 6pm at dueling Oaks restaurant in Christina Lake. email christinalakerotary@gmail.com for more details. Juris and Maddy will be attending.
- District Governor visit discussion. We are down for September 22nd and could do earlier suggested August 18th.
- Discussion on an area social together with Area 4.
- Wood for chairs is waiting for mill availability, this week hopefully.
- May 6th was an in person meeting at Lil’Ts. We enjoyed seeing each other in person and a good breakfast.
- No meeting held on May 13th as some of us were attending district conference.
- June 23rd – pensioners picnic -tickets $5 at Birchbank put on by two Unions. Volunteers are needed to help with cutting vegetables. Graham volunteers with them.
- Program– Highlights of district conference. About 150 people attended from across the district. Food good.
- Pat – Christina Hassan, a youth exchange student who set up a program to help women in childbirth in Uganda. A very compelling story to encourage us to send youth on Youth exchange.
- Juris, agreed that Christina was very powerful aslo – Stoveteam, building stoves for women who cook over wood fires in South America, good for the environment. Toastmasters alliance, Juris met Debbie Ford who is spearheading our district initiative.
- Maddy – Drum brothers. enjoyed drumming in a big group with them, Environmental speakers. Speaker mentioned project Drawdown. well worth looking at. Eileen Delahanty Pearkes. Lorelei Higgins a peace fellow was very inspiring. Peace pole planting.
- Discussion on toastmasters. Juris is on a panel with a district 9 Toastmasters conference in Sandpoint virtually on Saturday. Joan was a Toastmasters member in Texas.
- Next in person meeting is June 3rd. We will do an evening meeting and barbecue. Invite friends. Juris will invite Melissa who has won bingo three times. Harlamovs place.
- Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
