The meeting was held on zoom at 7.15am with 4 members present and guest Doug H Swanson

  • Business
  • Bingo. Juris, Maddy and Graham went to Castlegar last week together with John Nakken from the BV Lions club.
  • We have some gaming money that has to be spent by the end of this month.
  • Options for money, TACL asking for money for youth centre for pots and pans. Rossland is proposing we share the proposal for basinettes for KBRH foundation (13,000). KCTS has to requalify for gaming funds so we can consider them once they do.
  • Motion Maddy, seconded Graham. $2,500 to TACL and $3,500 to KBRH for bassinettes from gaming money. passed.
  • Date for road cleanup July 16th, meet at Tim’s for breakfast at 7.15. 8 to start road clean up.
  • District Governor visit August 18th. More details to follow.
  • Changeover meeting July 13th at Patterson’s place in Trail. Let Pat know if you can attend.
  • Wood for chairs is still waiting for mill availability, this week hopefully.
  • Dues are due – $120 for next 6 months payable by etransfer or cash to Carol or Juris. Let us know if you are not renewing membership.
  • Motion Graham/Maddy to add Pat to signatures on our bank account from July 1st. No quorum so Maddy will send it out by email for a vote when she has talked to Carol.
  • Program Doug Swanson from the Kootenay Columbia Trail society. (KCTS)
  • Their mission is to build and maintain recreational trails. Multi-use trails for non-motorized use. Benefits are many. Have well maintained trails with as few distractions as possible. Horse riders are included.
  • Webster Trail in Beaver Valley, they are building a bike descent. Bikes can share uphill trails but on downhills bikes can get very fast and like to have different trails. Ruala will put up a map (when they have a good one) showing local trails.
  • Wants to do some sort of electronic handshake across from antenna trail to Webster trail at May days next year.
  • Want to make sure environment is not damaged and that environmental concerns are managed. Trails are built to withstand local weather conditions.
  • Signage is an issue. People are not aware of Webster trail. Signage is needed in Fruitvale to point people to the trailhead.
  • July 1st is a Friday. No
  • meeting. July 8th will be in person, tentatively at Lil T’s at 8am.
  • Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
