- Business
- Five of us attended the joint installation on Wednesday. It was enjoyed by all. Thank you to Paulette and Mike Patterson of the trail club for hosting. Pat welcomed new member Monsé Loteki to our club and gave her a Rotary pin.
- Road cleanup July 23rd (postponed from July 16th). Juris will let other clubs know. Maddy will post on Facebook. 8am start with breakfast at Tim Horton’s at 7.15am.
- District Governor visit August 18th. Pat will have a garden party/barbecue at his house.
- Aug 15th, Monday, is a golf tournament at Redstone golf course with DG Linda Bauer attending, hosted by Rossland Rotary. Pat will send more information
- Wood for chairs is still waiting milling, Early August.
- Discussion on Jennifer Jones as new RI President. she wants us to tell our stories of our projects. Advertise what we do. Especially on the environment
- Discussion on tree planting. We want to plant trees at Fort Shepherd again. Sept 17th is International tree planting day (arbor day).
- Motion Graham, seconded Juris, We plant more trees at fort shepherd in the fall using club funds if express grants are not available, investigating the possibility of using bingo money. Passed. Juris will contact Karen and start the ball rolling. Maddy will find out about express grants. Maddy will organize facebook with Monse. Pat will organise other media.
- Dues are due – $120 for next 6 months payable by etransfer or cash. Juris will follow up with those who have not yet paid.
- Bingo – posters were distributed to be put up in Fruitvale, Montrose and the mall. Our next in person session is 22nd July, next week. Maddy, Juris and Graham will go. Maddy will invite John Nakken again. Last week was postponed due to the rogers etransfer outage. all cards bought for last week are valid this week.
- Speaker next week we have Sheila Issel from Beaver Valley Nursery school to speak to us.
- Possible speakers for the future- Scott Daniels, Mary Martin.
