• Business
• last week’s meeting was cancelled as the link did not work due to the change of the account to the new assistant governor, Fiona Martin. The new link is good for six months and is in the calendar on the website.
• Road cleanup on July 23rd. We had help from Trail and Rossland Rotary clubs and collected about 25 bags. We got many compliments on our good work.
• District Governor visit August 18th. Pat will have a garden party/barbecue at his house in the evening. Details to follow
• Aug 15th, Monday, is a golf tournament at Redstone golf course with DG Linda Bauer attending, hosted by Rossland Rotary. Pat will send more information
• We got a thank you letter from TACL for the bingo money we sent for the children’s program.
• Wood for chairs is still waiting milling, Early August.
• Tree planting: We have tentatively organized with The Land Conservancy to do more tree planting at Fort Shepherd on Sept 17th. They are eligible for bingo money and we can likely use the express grant again. They should be available in Mid August. We are aiming to spend $1000 on trees.
• Bingo – Pat signed the new partner agreement as our President with Juris’s help. Our in-person session went well and our next one will be in 7 weeks due to their anticipated move. It will be September 9th instead of 2nd.
• We have a photo op with the hospital foundation for the bassinets. Still to arrange one for TACL.
• The papers are ready to sign at the bank to change signatories on our accounts to add Pat.
• Discussion on meetings for the rest of the summer: We are not in favour of shutting down for the summer but cancel as needed when too many people are away.
• Possible speakers for the future- Sheila Issel from BV Nursery School, Scott Daniels, Mary Martin.
• We have the invoice from RI. Maddy will pay it.
• Maddy will send an email to see who is available to meet in person at Bridgeview on August 5th, otherwise it is cancelled. August 12th meeting is cancelled. August 19th is cancelled as we have the DG visit on 18th.
