On Saturday, 11th February, Waneta Sunshine Rotary eClub, held a beaver, tail and hot chocolate drive. The Beaver Valley family fun day is held at Mazocchi park in Fruitvale. President Pat, assisted by five members did all of the cooking and serving of the hot beaver tails. Graham prepared the hot chocolate and Juris was out in front of our table ‘encouraging’ everyone in attendance to come in and have a hot beaver tail. Soon after we started to cook beaver tails, the aroma of fresh beaver tails wafted through the park and brought in hungry, attendees to sample the hot sumptuous beaver tails, which were coated in sugar and chocolate syrup on request. There was also an option to have sugar and cinnamon instead of just plain sugar.
Members in attendance were Pat, Juris, Maddy, Graham, Joan, Monse, and Gordon. We did a bang up job and our beaver tails batter were gone by 1 o’clock.
Thanks to all who donated and thanks to all who help prepare and serve them. The donations will go towards projects in poorer parts of the world.
