Crocodiles are easy. They try to kill and eat you. People are harder. Sometimes they pretend to be your friend first.
The meeting was held on Zoom at 7.15am with 3 members present

- Business
- RI and district dues have been paid.
- We are now using Maddy’s zoom account for meetings. New link until Christmas. Juris and Graham tested a Teams meeting and it works. We can use it as a backup if needed.
- We received a thank you letter from the Hospital Foundation for the $2000 we donated towards the memory garden at Columbia View Lodge. A second letter letter gave an overview of the project which is nearing completion.
- More of us need to have Foodsafe so that we do not have to rely on just one person every time we make beaver tails. Foodsafe is available online.
- The road clean-up was successful on July 22nd despite the heat.
- Juris will investigate us doing more tree planting in the fall at Fort Shepherd. We may be able to use Bingo money to do more planting.
- We have about $3500 of Bingo money to use before the end of October. Juris will let us know how much. Suggested we try Communities in Bloom. fort Shepherd, Food bank.
- We may be able to get an express grant again from the district. We need ideas to apply and use this. Maddy will check the amount.
- What we want to do this year, as a club, especially to attract new members. Come up with ideas.
- Social tomorrow Saturday, August 12th at 4pm. Invite friends and past members and someone new to Rotary. So far we have 15 people coming.
- August 4th was in person at the Bridgeview.
- August 18th and 25th regular Zoom meetings.
- Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. The meeting adjourned at 7.45am
