• In person meeting was held on May 3rd at Bridgeview.
• Juris confirmed with Mike Walker of BV Maydays that we will make Beaver tails on May 25th. We will start setting up at 8.30. there is a car show so we may be busy then.
• May 4th Trail Rotary Road clean up happened, none of us were available.
• Changeover meeting to be a joint meeting with Trail and Rossland at the end of June, date to be decided.
• Officers need to be updated for 2024/25 on RI website: Maddy president, Gord PE, Joan membership, Juris Secretary, Gord Foundation chair. Maddy will update the website. Gord will take over as jokemaster
• Trail Rotary are interested in our helping with some projects – Silver City Day parade May 11th included.
• Treasurer will provide a financial report in May.
• Tree planting is a possibility at Fort Shepherd and/or Beaver creek Park.
• Discussion on several articles on mental health in Rotary magazine and New Scientist. Climate anxiety, languishing as opposed to depression. Five things to help with languishing: helping others, playing games, having some sort of spiritual or religious connection, learning something new and social connections. Some of these can be part of belonging to Rotary. We help others and have great fellowship. There seems to be more anxiety due to information overload, climate anxiety being part of it. We get anxious about illness. Where do we go for information? Wikipedia can be inaccurate and need editing. Can AI help with mental health?
• May 24th social and games night 6pm at Harlamovs to watch fireworks or drone show for BV MayDays.
• Pensioners picnic 27th June $5 per person. Put on by the Union.
• Next meeting May 17th on zoom at 7.15am.
