• Business
• We will be making Beaver tails on Saturday May 25th as part of Beaver Valley Maydays in pole yard lane. Arrive to start setting up at 8.30. There is a car show so we may be busy then. Parade is at 11am.
• Invite guests to help with making beaver tails. Theresa and Monse are coming to help us.
• Changeover meeting to be a joint meeting with Trail and Rossland at the end of June. No date yet.
• Officers need to be updated for 2024/25 on RI website: Maddy president, Gord PE, Joan membership, Juris Secretary, Gord Foundation chair. Maddy will update the website. Gord will take over as jokemaster.
• RYLA deadline for applications is May 31st. Discussion on where we can find students age 18 to 25 who would benefit from the course. It is in Moscow, Idaho this year. Pat’s grandson Bremen is not available to go. it is hard to find youth who are not working during the summer.
• We need to inspire younger people to join Rotary.
• Tree planting is a possibility at Fort Shepherd and/or Beaver creek Park. Beaver Creek park is easier for us. We will see when the project at Beaver Creek park starts. Juris will follow up with the Land Conservancy and get someone to come talk to us about what they have in mind.
• Pat had a request for us to help a rugby team led by Trent Coombs to fund them to help with travel costs. Pat will invite Trent to a meeting.
• There are opportunities for us to help low income families in the area with grad or with bursaries for college.
• We need a financial update and a budget. What can we do for a fundraiser to enable us to give money away?
• May 24th social and games night 6pm at Harlamovs to watch the drone show for BV MayDays.
• Meeting May 24th cancelled due to social that evening and making Beaver tails the next day.
• Next meeting May 31st at 7.15am on Zoom
• June 7th meeting in person at place to be determined.
