  • District Governor David’s visit was canceled due to his wife’s illness. We wish him well.
  • The October 4th food drive at Liberty Foods was successful. All 100 bags were sold, and $724 in cash was collected for the Beaver Valley Food Bank.
  • We need a President Elect to follow Gord as President for 2026/27.
  • Motion Proposed by Joan, seconded Maddy: to donate $1000 Canadian to the Castlegar club for their Peruvian water project. Passed
  • Program
  • TED talk on body language from Coleman Hughes.
  • Colour blindness. Programs and policies should be based on class rather than race or colour. Treat people without regard to race rather than “I don’t see colour”. Create colour blind ways of doing things, eg, grade papers without names on, same with job applications, to avoid bias due to names.
  • Discussion followed
  • October 24th and 31st meetings will be TED talks.
  • November 7th in person at Trail Tea and Coffee.
  • Social to be discussed at the next meeting
