  • Program Erika’s introductory speech
  • She was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up in the heart of Tokyo. She moved to Kelowna in 2010, where her dad is from. (Her mother is Japanese). She studied at UBC Okanagan. She returned to Tokyo for a job in environmental consultation from 2018 to 2024. She found she preferred Canada so she returned. She completed more courses at UBCO in electrical engineering in Kelowna. In May 2025, she got hired at FortisBC in Trail. At FortisBC she is in training to become a professional engineer, which will take another 3 to 5 years. She feels that electricity is the blood of society, and it is cool to be part of the people who keep it going.
  • Her interests include gaming on the computer, board games, Dungeons and Dragons, cooking, crafting, stargazing, and camping. She used to be a bookworm, but is more social now. In the future, she would like to try hunting and fishing.
  • She showed photos of her travels in New Zealand, of cherry blossoms in Japan, and her family.
  • Questions. She talked about cultural differences, being different, and the train system.
  • Business
  • February 12th, 4 to 6- beaver tails at FES. Pat will help us with dough and lending equipment. Maddy to do shopping. Juris to organise transport. plastic gloves and napkins, paper towel.
  • Discussion on Teams as meeting platform. Agreed to carry on with it.
  • Club social Saturday February 21st at Harlamovs- pot luck
  • Coming events
  • In-person meeting next week on February 6th. Bridgeview at 7.45AM
  • March 28th Spring Assembly in Rossland. It would be good to change the food drive to accommodate those wishing to go to this.
  • March 28th Food drive at Liberty Foods. Can we change it to 21st?
  • 2nd week of each month, we will do the peacebuilder presentations.
  • Happy and sad bucks (not collected)
