The meeting was held on zoom with 5 members present.

Music – what the world needs now

  • Club assembly Business:
  • Tree project -Viktor had a quote for 105 trees and fertilizer to cover the amount of the express grant of $420 ($300USD). Motion by Viktor seconded by Graham to add $580 from the bingo account and add an equivalent amount of trees. carried. Juris will check that BC gaming approves the Kootenay Native plant society for the money
  • Roll-a-hippo – Motion by Maddy seconded by Graham that individuals donate to the club for rolla hippo if they want and we send a check once everyone has donated. passed
  • Bingo- golden is handing it over to Castlegar Rotary at the end of April. All the clubs are on board. Motion by Maddy seconded by graham that we combine with Trail and Rossland clubs as one line on the drop down menu and then split the proceeds 1/5 to us 2/5 to each of the other clubs. passed
  • We need a Youth Protection Officer if we do anything with youth. Pat volunteered. Maddy will pass his name on to Lorraine Hartson
  • The Green team (District environmental group) is having a meeting March 23rd and inviting interested Rotarians to attend. If anyone is interested contact Leslie Waters to get the link.lwaters@eltopia.com.
  • Grant certification – Pat volunteered to do this. maddy will send him the information.
  • Fruitvale community garden – we need to find out if we can give them bingo money. Maddy will find out whether there is a society associated with it.
  • Peace building. Pat has taken the training through IEP. maddy is half way through it. Maddy will find out the requirements to becoming a peacebuilder club.
  • DACdb (district and club database)- The district is changing from Clubrunner to DACDb. As we do not use club runner there is no action needed on our part. there are some free modules available to clubs with the changeover that we may want to take advantage of. Juris will look into this.
  • Castlegar club invited us to help support a water project in Peru. Maddy will invite them to come and speak to us in April.
  • Upcoming meetings
  • March 19th Jake Miller, an athlete from Special olympics.
  • Saturday April 17th 9am to 12 District conference/spring assembly
  • Happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
