The meeting was held on zoom at 7.15am with 5 members present

  • Business
  • last Friday six of us met at The Bridgeview.
  • We are saddened by the death of the Queen in England.
  • Pat is headed to Coer D’Alene today for a Youth exchange inbound camp today. He has a YE student, Bernard, from Chile.
  • Joint fundraiser between the three clubs suggested. Selling roses for thanksgiving. Roses not available right now but we may do it for Valentine’s day.
  • Thanksgiving food drive a possibility at Liberty just us or all three clubs on same day. Maddy will call them.
  • Possibility of Christmas projects helping in the community. see what we can do to increase out visibility.
  • We want signage. An awning with our name on it for use at projects and to give us more visibility. Pat and Juris will both look into this. A table cloth with our name on it for use at booths. Maddy will look into this.
  • Wood for chairs is still waiting milling.
  • We need a signature event. Like the BV Rotary beef on a bun.
  • Tree planting: We have organized with The Land Conservancy to do more tree planting at Fort Shepherd on Sept 17th. They are eligible for bingo money and we may be able to use the express grant of $400 (USD). Juris will confirm the arrangements.
  • We need shirts to be more visible. How can we wear Rotary shirts when we have safety vests on? discussions on shirts
  • Our next in person session for Bingo will be today (instead of last week). They are now at the Airport.
  • The papers are awaiting signing to get Pat added as a signatory on our bank account.
  • We need to know how much money we have in our accounts. Juris our treasurer will give us a financial update once he gets all the figures from Carol.
  • Upcoming speakers; September 16th Betty Boatang to talk to us about projects in Ghana. September 23rd Sheila Issel from BV Nursery School, to be confirmed. Possibly Scott Daniels, and Mary Martin in October.
  • 7th October in person at Pat’s to make beaver tails at 8am subject to revision.
  • Fiona Martin our Assistant governor will visit for one of our meetings.
  • happy and sad bucks (not) collected. Meeting adjourned at 8.15am
