- Business
- Pat went to Coer D’Alene last weekend for a Youth exchange inbound camp. It was well organised and well run and very worthwhile. They have a ski event planned at Schweitzer basin, near Sandpoint. He introduced us to his YE student, Bernard, from Chile. Pat’s grandson is doing well in Germany on his exchange.
- Saturday November 5th District fall training in Spokane valley 10 to 3pm. We need to have people trained if we want to apply for a grant.
- October 24th is World polio day. Is there something we can do? Make beaver tails or some sort of yoga fundraising suggested. Maybe do a joint event with Trail. Settled on making Beaver tails at the Trail farmers market on October 22. Pat will see if Trail club want to do it with us.
- Nominate someone for people of action honors.
- Thanksgiving food drive a possibility at Liberty just us or all three clubs on same day. Maddy will call them.
- Possibility of Christmas projects helping in the community. see what we can do to increase our visibility. Beaver valley food hampers are looking for help assembling hampers and wrapping gifts. Also breakfast with Santa is happening and needs volunteers. Dates not yet available.
- Tree planting: Postponed until October 15th. More details to follow.
- Bingo went well last week. Juris, Graham and John Nakken attended.
- We need to know how much money we have in our accounts. Juris our treasurer will give us a financial update once he gets all the figures from Carol. we need to give away some bingo money soon.
- We need to figure out a fundraiser to build up our funds.
- Members need foodsafe and serve it right if we do fundraisers with food like Beaver tails
- Monday 19th Pat will invite Betty Boatang to come talk to us in the evening at his house 6pm. He will confirm.
- Upcoming speakers September 23rd Sheila Issel from BV Nursery School, confirmed. Send her the link for the meeting. David Cooke on global warming on September 30th. Jo Campagn to talk about her farm date tba. Gus Lot to talk about history of the discovery of Uranus date tba possibly October 14th.
- 7th October in person at Pat’s to make beaver tails at 8am subject to revision.
